Is it carpet? or marble? I want it to be carpet…I miss that stuff
it is carpet! from looking at a few pics it looks like silk cut pile carpet. i am also a big fan of wall-to-wall carpet. if i owned my place i’d do wall-to-wall sisal. out of all my rugs, my sisal rug is the one that is standing up the best to my cats.
happy to answer a question not about celine dion today…
about 4 months ago i started eating a paleo(-ish) diet. you can google that for a lot more information, but it’s essentially modeled on an ancestral human diet to combat the ‘diseases of civilization’ (diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer, depression) by avoiding modern foods and food-like inventions.
i just eat a ton of meat (particularly ruminant meat), fish, eggs (always with yolks), fruits and vegetables, and full-fat dairy. and i eat as much as i want of these foods. no wheat, soy, beans, or vegetable oil. it comes out to be a high protein, high fat, low to moderate carb diet. i don’t care much about my weight, but i’ve dropped about 15 pounds since i started, and that was after 20 pounds of weight loss in 2010.
i’m fortunate that i have a great butcher shop in my neighborhood with grass-fed beef and lamb and grass-fed whole milk. i also have an excellent fish shop and fresh eggs from my CSA. and the money and time to buy and cook all these things.
but i still eat ice cream a few times a week and tonight i had a burger with the bun and a lot of wine. i’m not that hardcore about it i guess. it works for me though and i think it would work for almost all people.

the guardian wrote an excellent article about me and my legal war with celine dion!

chilitoserrano replied to your photo: Ummm this is awesome
what dish is this?
it’s a ‘kimchi bowl’ i.e. a regular plate of rice, bulgogi and kimchi with a side of pico de gallo. tbh next time i’ll just tell them to hold the pico and it will just be un-fusioned korean food.
i think the style of my apartment is best described as ‘upper east side society matron’
i did actually get it in ogunquit, wore it for one day, and then promptly lost it :(
