Bedford Circus, Exeter - England

The historian W.G. Hoskins called it “one of the finest pieces of Georgian town-planning in England”. Some of it was badly-damaged during World War Two but it was actually destroyed completely by the city council in the post-war rebuilding of the city. The decision to remove it was an unforgiveable act of cultural vandalism.
