for those of you who don’t know about gravesend or the unique housing market there: it’s a tight-knit ethnic enclave in brooklyn, populated mostly by sephardic jews. the houses in the area regularly set records for highest priced sales in the borough. the largest single family homes are around 10,000 sq feet (enormous) and sell for about $9-13 million.

this one has a pretty awful exterior. there’s no rhythm or graciousness that typically defines a ‘colonial’ and not much sense to be made of any of it. but i have a soft spot for the interior, which brings some truly next level tacky.
